The title Jolly Roger is thought to come from the French phrase "joli rouge" which means "pretty red". The original pirate flags were blood red rather than black and white and this signalled that no mercy would be given once the pirates boarded and battle ensued. The flag is vivid and sure to be noticed even at a distance. 2 brass grommets make attaching your flag to a flag pole easy, simply attach using cable ties or similar. The flag is double stitched all of the way around to ensure longevity and is made from durable Polyester. The lightweight design allows the flag to fly even in a mild breeze.
